All About Me
Centuries ago, the fertile lands of Braj and Agra nourished kingdoms, people, and traditions. Among the legendary rulers of this region, Maharaja Suraj Mal of Bharatpur is remembered as a visionary king who valued agriculture, prosperity, and the heritage of his people. Under his reign, fertile fields bloomed, farmers thrived, and the culture of food became a symbol of strength and identity.
Agra, with its rich soil and timeless history, has always been more than a city of monuments. It is a city where the land itself tells stories — stories of hard work, flavors, and roots that connect generations. The same fertile ground that once sustained empires continues to gift us with crops, spices, and traditions that shape our cuisine today.
🥬 Inspired by this glorious past, Laddy says… “A Taste of Agra’s Roots.” Every dish we serve carries the essence of this fertile heritage. It is not just food on a plate, but a reflection of Agra’s abundance, Maharaja Suraj Mal’s vision, and the timeless connection between soil, culture, and soul.
Maharaja Surajmal considered farmers as the most important section of the society and had a lot of respect for them.
He personally identified the problems of the farmers and introduced reforms to rectify them.
Some institutions that have been named after him include the Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology and Maharaja Surajmal Brij University, Bharatpur.
